M2TS is a container file format for Blu-ray and Advanced Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD). It is a proprietary digital video and movie file type that usually consists of encrypted content on Blu-ray disks for consumer use. It also supports streaming content over the Internet.
Several options are available for opening M2TS. On Windows, use VLC media player, or Picture Motion Browser Software. On Linux or Mac OS X, use VLC media player. M2TS supports chapters, captions, subtitles, metadata tags, and menus.
If problems arise in opening M2TS, then drop the “2” from the file extension to make it MTS. For additional details, refer to the instructions in the first “Note” on this page on LifeWire.com. Another solution is to update your software to the latest release. This should solve any compatibility problems.

Flash Live Video (FLV) is, as the name suggests, a type of Flash video. It is a popular format that delivers high-quality, well-synchronized multimedia content, primarily over the Internet. It is also a media container, and as such, uses codecs to compress file size. FLV uses the open standard ISO/IEC 14496-12:2008, also known as the ISO base media file format, which offers the advantage of flexibility and independence.
By default, FLV opens in Adobe products, namely Animate Creative Cloud (Animate CC) and Flash. It opens best in Adobe Flash version 7 and above. FLV does not support chapters or subtitles, but it does support metadata tags.
Since FLV is based on an open standard, it can open in many non-Adobe products. Other programs in which FLV can open include VLC media player, Zoom Player, RealNetworks RealPlayer Cloud, Eltima Elmedia Player, and others.
