How to open a PEF file?

Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation provides PENTAX PHOTO Laboratory software, which is the default for opening PEF. Another common program for viewing PEF is PENTAX PHOTO Browser. A non-Pentax program for opening PEF is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.

Many other programs can open this file type successfully. For both Microsoft Windows and macOS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom works well for opening and converting PEF.
