RealMedia Variable Bitrate (RMVB) is an extension of the RealMedia multimedia container format. It uses variable bitrate (VBR) compression, which means that it adjusts bandwidth depending how difficult or easy it is to compress a segment of the multimedia content, such as high-action versus low-action scenes.
RealPlayer supports playback of RMVB files in Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Since RealNetworks developed RMVB, RealPlayer is the default platform for this file type. It is available as a free download and is easy to use. It supports captions, subtitles, and streaming.
Other software that can open RMVB files include VLC media player and ALLPlayer, which are both free. Keep in mind that RMVB is proprietary and relatively uncommon; used mostly for playing files locally instead of streaming over the Internet.

PSP Video is an MP4 file encoded for Sony’s PlayStation Portable handheld console. It uses H.264 video with AAC audio at a low resolution suited to the PSP’s 480×272 screen, which keeps files small enough to fit comfortably on a Memory Stick while still looking sharp on the handheld.
Connect the PSP to a computer over USB, copy the file into the VIDEO folder on the Memory Stick, then select it under Video in the console’s XMB menu.
Older PSP firmware is strict about file naming and folder location, so if a clip does not appear, check that it sits in the correct folder and update the system software. On a computer the same MP4 plays in VLC media player, QuickTime, or Windows Media Player without any special handling. Our video converter can re-encode a clip for a different device or format.
