Opus is an open, royalty-free lossy audio codec standardised by the IETF as RFC 6716. It was designed to cover everything from low-bitrate speech to full-quality stereo music in a single codec, and it consistently outperforms MP3 and AAC at the same bitrate. Opus powers voice and audio in WhatsApp, Discord, Zoom, YouTube, and every WebRTC browser call, which makes it one of the most widely used audio codecs in the world.
Every major web browser plays Opus natively, so dragging the file into a browser tab works. On the desktop, VLC media player and foobar2000 both support it out of the box.
Android plays Opus natively, and FFmpeg handles conversion from the command line. Some older hardware players, car stereos, and editing programs still do not recognise the format — in that case convert it with our Opus to MP3 tool. You can also convert the file with our OPUS to MP3 tool.

3GPP (3GP) is a multimedia container format designed for third generation (3G) universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) networks, which is a global system for mobile (GSM) standard. Since UMTS is a technology for mobile, the 3GP format allows mobile phones on UMTS networks to capture, save, deliver, and play media over high-speed wireless connections.
The best application for opening 3GP is Apple QuickTime. And although 3GP is designed for mobile, the file format opens easily on most operating systems, including Linux, Mac, and Windows.
3GP is a flexible file format that supports captions and subtitles via 3GPP Timed Text. It does not support interactive menus, but it is compatible with free third-party tools that provide such support. One example is AutoGK. To improve the quality of the video while viewing off-mobile, convert the file to MP4.
