Waveform Audio (WAV) is the most-popular digital-audio format for uncompressed audio files. WAV is the result of IBM and Windows iterating a Resource Interchange File Format (RIFF). Ogg Vorbis (OGG) is a file that uses Ogg Vorbis compression. OGG is a patent-free, royalty-free encoding scheme provided by the Xiph.Org Foundation. Like MP3, OGG files are renowned for their high quality. OGG files include metadata, as well as artist and track title information.

 

How to open an OGG file?

The default program to open an OGG file is VLC media player. Additionally, a great number of other programs can open OGG, such as Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Winamp, Xine, UltraMixer, and others.

 

If in a pinch, you can simply open an OGG file in Google Drive, which is available on any computer or mobile device equipped with an internet browser. Be aware that Apple products do not support OGG.
