Canon Raw CIFF Image (CRW) file is a RAW file type that is proprietary to older-model Canon digital cameras. (Newer Canon digital cameras use the CR2 format.) In terms of structure, CRW is similar to the TIFF file format. The benefit of a CRW is that it is an unprocessed image that contains all of the file’s information, as captured by the camera. Since CRW is a proprietary file format for Canon, the best program to use to work with a CRW file is Canon’s Digital Photo Professional.
